Swan swims through fields of Pannar yellow maize

Johan Swan from the Swan Farming Group recently lived up to his name in Barkly West, wading through his flooded PAN 3P–924PW yellow maize fields like a true swan.

What followed was just as remarkable – a video of Johan “swimming” through a sea of harvested maize. Despite the flood, the crop held strong and delivered a solid yield.

Pannar’s representative, Charlie de Beer, caught up with Johan to see the results for himself – a harvest worth diving into.

PAN 3P-924PW

The PAN 3P-924PW yellow maize hybrid is part of Pannar’s quickest platform. This ultra-early range produces an attractive grain type that dries down rapidly. It has maintained excellent high-yield potential and stability over seasons, making it the market-leading irrigation platform. It is also suitable for high-potential dryland production. 

With its upright leaf structure, this platform is ideal for higher plant populations and maintains excellent standability. It also features a semi-flex ear type, which is advantageous under high potential conditions. A preventative fungicide programme is recommended in higher disease-pressure environments.
