The inaugural Pannar Extravaganza at Cradock was a great success

The first-ever Pannar Cradock Extravaganza was hosted at Sitrusrant Boerdery at Cookhouse, south of Cradock.

It was a great success and next year is already set to be bigger. The day was presented under the leadership of Phillip Hollenbach, regional manager and Jannie de Bruyn representative for the Cape area. Klaas van Wyk, agronomist for the Northern Cape, talked about Pannar's formidable maize package and Dr Andre du Toit, wheat breeder, about irrigated wheat. Both elaborated on production and management practices for optimal production and how Pannar strives to enrich farmers’ operations by broadening the frontiers of farming through science. Klaas and Andre found the one-on-one discussions about maize and wheat very stimulating – it’s always an honour when farmers come to us to seek advice.

There are four more opportunities to attend Pannar's Extravaganzas in the Northern Cape:

Hopetown: February 22 at Schoeman Farm

Douglas: February 29 at Zandbult Farms at Hilton McGaw

Prieska: March 7 at Frankdale at Kerneels Greyling

Vaalharts: March 14 at Hartswater at Jaco Otto

The demonstrations at the Extravaganzas include PAN 3P-912PW. This new ultra-early yellow hybrid strengthens Pannar's range for irrigation. It’s an excellent stable mate for the PAN 3A-124 platform, shows good tolerance to Northern Leaf Blight and features PowerCore™ technology. It provides broad-spectrum protection against above-ground lepidopteran pests and is stacked with glyphosate herbicide-tolerant technology for excellent insect and weed control.
