As planting season springs to life across South Africa, Somerzonn Boerdery is already well underway. Farmer Ian Lopes shares these stunning photos from their farm in Haverglen, Delmas. This season, Somerzonn Boerdery opted for our PAN 4A-152 yellow maize hybrid and PAN 1521R soybean cultivar, with expert guidance from our Pannar representative in the area, Bennie de Villiers.
PAN 4A-152 is widely adapted for consistent performance across all production areas. It is an excellent choice for stable yields in lower potential environments and for low plant populations. It also features strong early vigour, good standability, and is a very healthy plant with good general disease tolerance.
If we need to single out a cultivar for preferential planting, it is PAN 1521R. It has unmatched yield potential and stability over different yield potentials, production areas and seasons. Equally well-suited to cool-temperate and hot regions, this cultivar has a characteristically strong, deeply developed root system.
We are proud to be part of Somerzonn Boerdery’s planting season and wish them a prosperous harvest.
