Pannar’s P3 Trials Tests Cultivar Performance and Provide Insight

Jan Erasmus, Pannar’s Representative in Schweizer-Reneke, believes that by testing one gets invaluable insight. Jan's P3 white maize trial, near Migdol in the Northwest, looks very promising. Jan is particularly impressed with PAN 5R-591R and PAN 6R-879BR in the trial. PAN 5R-591R is a very strong prolific medium-early hybrid. The platform includes PAN 5A-291, PAN 5B-491B and PAN 5R-891BR. This platform performs very well in the western production areas. PAN 6R-879BR, with its medium growing season, is particularly well adapted for the western parts. It has good standability and tolerance to Northern Corn Leaf Blight.

Pannar's team of agriculturists and representatives test the very best hybrids, as well as promising hybrids, in Pannar's pipeline in the P3 trials. P3 stands for "Pannar Preferred Products". The purpose of this program is to canvas unbiased performance comparisons that empower us to make accurate cultivar recommendations to our farmers.
