Pannar’s new yellow maize hybrids ensure superior performance

Pannar has introduced its new range of yellow maize hybrids adapted to local conditions. The latest hybrids were developed with the most innovative breeding techniques in the world, and have been widely tested for local success. As a multicrop specialist, Pannar offers a broad crop portfolio characterised by good yield potential, adaptability and stability that minimises the risk in production.

This yellow maize package delivers consistently stable and good performance, and is widely adapted and agronomically well balanced. The formidable package of ultra-early, early, medium-early and medium hybrids also provides a good longterm risk-mitigating strategy.

This season, Pannar’s newest yellow maize hybrids with PowerCore™ trait technology are PAN 3P-924PW, PAN 4P-928PW and PAN 5P-990PW. PowerCore™ technology incorporates three different Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) proteins for extensive control of targeted above-ground Lepidoptera insects. The unique combination of Bt-proteins contained in PowerCore™ technology offers improved insect resistant management against maize stalk borer (Busseola fusca) and spotted maize stem borer (Chilo partellus), while its glyphosate tolerance brings a proven, convenient weed control benefit to farmers.

PAN 3P-924PW
PAN 3P-924PW is the quickest maize hybrid in Pannar’s range and boasts rapid dry-down and an attractive grain type.

This ultra-early platform, which also includes PAN 3A-124 and PAN 3R-524R, maintains excellent high-yield potential and stability over seasons, making it very popular under irrigation. It is also well adapted to high-potential dryland production. PAN 3P-924PW maintains excellent standability in high plant populations. It has a semiflex ear type, which is beneficial under high-potential conditions featuring high plant populations. Where foliar diseases are common in high disease-pressure environments, a preventative fungicide spray programme is recommended.

PAN 4P-928PW
PAN 4P-928PW is an early hybrid, and its stablemates are PAN 4A-128 and PAN 4R-528R. PAN 4P-928PW has excellent top-yield potential and handles higher plant populations comfortably. It is especially recommended for high-potential lands in the eastern production areas. It is agronomically well balanced and has good standability.

PAN 5P-990PW
PAN 5P-990PW is widely adapted and delivers good, stable performance across all production areas. It has excellent early vigour and good standability. It is a medium-early hybrid and the stablemate of PAN 5A-190 and PAN 5R-590R.

The hybrids were developed with the most innovative breeding techniques.

PAN 5P-990PW is an excellent choice as a silage hybrid in eastern production areas. It has a very healthy plant type with good general disease tolerance, specifically against diplodia cob rot and common rust. The platform can be prolific when planted at low plant populations.

PAN 4A-132
This is a brand-new early platform hybrid with strong yield stability across different yield potential levels. It has robust disease tolerance, and it puts strong prolificacy back into the early growing class.
