Johan van Rooyen farms on Mooidam near Bloemfontein. He harvested a great yield from the Pannar soybean cultivar, PAN 1521R. Johan elaborates: “We planted PAN 1521 on 10 November and applied MAP at a rate of 70 kg/ha. Our row spacing was 0.76 m, and the plant population was 280,000 plants per hectare. We irrigated 15mm every 10 days until the flowering stage, and just before the flowering stage, we did a foliar feeding of 3 kg MAP Technical Grade. After that, we applied 25 mm of water every week up to harvest".
PAN 1521R is a very reliable cultivar. It has excellent yield potential and stability (yield probability) over different yield potentials, production areas, and seasons. It is equally well adapted to cool, temperate, and warm production areas. This cultivar has a characteristically strong and deeply developed root system.
